Where You Stand

Say how many a batch makes to see the cost of one.

Profit: the price, less every cost above, your pay included, and the fees.

Profit margin: the part of the price you keep. A 25% margin means 25¢ of every $1 a buyer pays is profit.

Profit percentage (markup): your profit as a part of what you spent, fees included. Spend $3.00 making it, pay $0.40 in fees and sell for $4.00: a $0.60 profit, an 18% markup and a 15% margin.

Profit here is before income tax. If you add sales tax on top of your price, it belongs to the state, not to you, so it is left out. If it comes out of your price, put it under Selling Fees.

These figures are worked out from what you typed. They are a guide, not tax or legal advice.
